InformationInformation for Researchers Seeking Human Subjects
Requirements for Posting Proposals:
Description of Proposed Research Project and Background Information on Researcher

AdvocateWeb is pleased to cooperate with legitimate researchers who are exploring the experiences of people who have been sexually and emotionally exploited by professionals, such as psychotherapists, clergy, teachers, and others in positions of power, as a way of furthering understanding of this issue.

ADVOCATEWEB NEITHER ENDORSES NOR SUPPORTS ANY RESEARCH PROJECT, NOR DOES IT TAKE A POSITION ON THE QUALITY OR VALIDITY OF ANY RESEARCH OR ITS OUTCOMES. IN ADDITION, ADVOCATEWEB CANNOT GUARANTEE THE LEGITIMACY OF ANY RESEARCHER OR IN ANY WAY CONTROL THE FINDINGS OF A RESEARCH PROJECT OR HOW THOSE FINDINGS WILL BE USED.

Researchers who wish to post requests for human subjects for their research must state the nature and purpose of their research and attach current cv/resumes. AdvocateWeb does not post questionnaires or other research instruments.

If you wish to post a request, please give the following information on the form provided:

  1. Your full name, degrees earned, and title or position of all researchers
  2. Where and how you can be reached (e.g.,  telephone, mailing address, e-mail address, web address, etc.)
  3. Title of the research
  4. Description of the research and its purpose
  5. Description of the subjects you are seeking
  6. Will your research proposal and use of subjects be controlled by a human subjects committee or institutional review board?
  7. Description of how much time and what will be required of subjects (e.g., filling in a questionnaire, interviews, testing, etc.)
  8. What will you do with the data once you have gathered it? (e.g., give your findings at a conference, write a paper for a journal, write a book, combine your data with that of others, etc.)
  9. Who will comprise the audience for your findings? (e.g., the lay public, a thesis committee, a specialized journal, etc.)
  10. How will subjects gain access to your findings when your project is complete? (e.g., copies of the paper will be sent to them after publication, you will be available to speak to them personally, no access, etc.)

Please attach a complete copy of current cv/resumes for all researchers involved.  Incomplete requests will not be posted.

If possible, please provide information in electronic format (via floppy diskette, or email).
