Client Rights in Psychotherapy and Counselling is a 48 page handbook of client rights and therapist responsibility. It has been developed by the Client Rights Project, a Toronto based non-profit community coalition between Feminist Advocates for Counselling Ethics (FACE), Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/Multicultural Women Against Rape (TRCC/MWAR), and Women's Counselling Referral and Education Centre (WCREC) for the prevention of client violation.

This booklet is a useful educational tool that assists both clients and therapists in understanding the ethical framework of the counselling relationship.

Sales from the handbook will go toward making this information more accessible to a wider range of service users and providers.

Deals with issues such as:
  • A client's power
  • A therapist's power
  • Client rights education
  • Negotiation fees
  • Bartering/trading services
  • Understanding oppression
  • Client access to services

  • Confidentiality & Privacy
  • Training & Experience
